SPORT IN ACTION (SIA) HAS PRAISED UPLIFT MEDIA
Sport In Action (SIA) has praised Uplift Media for their commitment and dedication to transforming the lives of the less privileged children and young people in the communities.
Last weekend, Uplift Media with support from Anchor of Hope Charities of the United States donated 240 pairs of shoes to children at Fountain of Hope in Lusaka’s Kamwala area, a gesture that was implemented after the vulnerability assessment that was made by SIA.
SIA Executive Director Frankson Mushindu said the organisation was happy to partner with Uplift Media in the quest to promoting good health outcomes and ensure increased self-esteem for children at the centre.
“We are thankful for this gesture by Uplift Media because as you may know, apart from shoes which will be able to protect the children from infections, their confidence and morale will be boosted and their outlook in society will be more positive and healthier,” Mr Mushindu said.
‘Very soon, we shall be approaching the rainy season and these shoes will come in handy to provide comfort and safety during these times’
Mr Mushindu urged Uplift Media to continue with their support which he said should also be extended to other children and organisations.
Uplift Media Founder and Chairperson, Pennipher Sikainda Nyirenda, who led her team in handing over the donation to the children, said despite being a media based organisation, Uplift Media was committed to helping the children in need.
Mrs. Nyirenda said the organisation will be conducting a donation of 100 shoes to a yet to be identified organisation in partnership with SIA.
‘‘We are here to share this wonderful moment with you because you are all special, you have place in our hearts, we love you and we want you to chase your dreams, so we want to help you.’’Mrs. Nyirenda added.
