SIA Partners with PATH to roll out the Malaria Prevention activities in Luwingu and Kaputa districts.

Sport In Action In partnership with PATH ( Pamo Plus project) with funding from USAID is conducting training for the Community Change Agents (CCAS) in Kaputa and Luwingu focusing on the Prevention of Malaria.

The trainings are targeting 154 Community Change Agents in the two Districts who will be equipped with knowledge and skills on how to conduct household visits, Health talks and community dialogue meetings to promote behaviors for Malaria control and elimination in their communities and further create demand for the use of Malaria products and services.

In Luwingu, The programme is targeting eight (8) health facilities namely Namukolo, Nsaje, Chikoyi, Kabangamika, Chinta, Mucheleka and Misambula. While in Kaputa; Kaputa, Chipili, Kambole Chansa, Kalaba, Kapala, Muchenja and Kasungwe.

The mentioned facilities have been selected based on the high burden of Malaria incidences recorded in the district.

Through SIA’s concept of Sport for Development, Health talks on Malaria will be integrated into sports tournaments and leagues in the targeted districts and communities.

The Provincial Health Office and the District Health Office in each of the two districts are providing support for the training.
