The Girls In Action team on Thursday, 10th March, 2022 donated the 1st batch of pads+pants to Munali School, Special Needs Unit as part of the “donate a pad+pant to a girl with special needs” campaign.
As an organization, we would like to extend our deepest gratitude to all individuals, organisations and groups who donated towards this cause.
Our goal was to start with 100 girls in Lusaka and we managed to donate to the first 60 girls aged between 14 and 24 at Munali Special Needs Unit. Munali School Headteacher Mrs Siampwizi Rhoda Banda expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the donations and was grateful that action was being taken to help the girls in maintaining mentrual dignity while in school. Nipile Makombe, one of the recipients of the donations was overjoyed that, at least, they had not been forgotten, that people remembered them and offered to help them with these donations. She gave her vote of thanks on behalf of all the recipients of the donations.
As an organization, our goal is to support at least 1500 girls around Zambia with these donations this year. We are grateful for the generous donations and all your support in helping achieving this goal.
The “donate a pad+pant to a girl with special needs” campaign is still running and we continue to recieve donations in support of promoting menstrual dignity for girls with disability in schools and orphanages.
