Female Football Coaches Training Kicks Off At OYDC

Female football coaches training kicks off at OYDC

Sport In Action (SIA) has joined forces with Zambian Streetfootballworld members and other organisations to deliver a four day training workshop for young female football coaches being held at the Olympic Youth Development Center (OYDC).

36 participants drawn from 10 sports organisations in Central, Eastern, Lusaka and Southern provinces are attending the workshop which kicked off on Monday 26th August, 2019 with an objective of strengthening the participation and recognition of girls and women at grassroots level in the country.

The workshop is being facilitated by Germany’s 1989 European Championship winning member Petra Landers, who will contribute to achieving another objective of supplementing government and the Football Association of Zambia’s efforts in creating a pool of young coaches who will act as role models for young girls to take up football as their careers and leaders at community level.

SIA would like to thank Streetfootballworld and the German government through the German Federal Foreign Office for making the training of female football coaches in the country possible.

It is our close working collaboration with the Streetfootballworld and the German government in which concerted effort is being made to continue the development of women’s football in Zambia.
