SIA Team off to Russia for the 2018 Football for Hope Festival

Russia Here We come! 

Sport In Action (SIA) team left for Russia yesterday to take part in yet another Football for Hope Festival which will run from June 14, 2018 – July 15, 2018. This is the third time SIA is participating after successfully taking an active part during the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and Euro 2016 in France. The festival is an official event sponsored and organized by FIFA.

SIA Executive Director Frankson Mushindu said “This recognition shows our commitment to helping improve young people’s lives through sport, and through the festival, we shall ensure that we help in raising meaningful and productive young people for the benefit of the communities where they live in,”

He added that the festival was a perfect opportunity for SIA to enhance its advocacy tools of ensuring that education, gender-based violence, and equal participation are tackled through sport, and it was exciting that FIFA had recognized SIA as an organization using football as a tool for social change.
