
INTERNATIONAL DAY OF THE GIRL CHILD
Girls In Action today Celebrated with the rest of the world the International Day of the Girl Child by hosting a series of sensitization sessions for girls at different centers in Lusaka, Livingstone and Kabwe, while highlighting this year’s theme which is Digital Generation. Our Generation.
Girls In Action Kabwe conducted sensitization sessions covering 4 Schools namely; Twafwane School, Neemtree, Katondo Community School and Lukanga Primary School, and reached out to 70 girls.
Girls In Action Lusaka conducted sessions in Mtendere, Matero, Fountain of Hope and Kaunda Square, reaching a total of K270 girls.
While Girls In Action Livingstone conducted its sessions at Fountain of Hope, Zambezi and SOS Children’s Village with 50 girls in attendance.
The aim of these sessions is to activate some of the girls to take key interest in pursuing careers in digital science and also push the agenda of providing them with key information on them being digital change-makers in helping reducing cyber bulling and issues that arise by using these online platforms.
Girls know their digital realities and the solutions they need to excel on their diverse pathways as technologists for freedom of expression, joy, and boundless potential.
